En Route To Harpenden

May 4, 2012

Beloved friends and family,

This is just a brief update to let you know that we’re on our way to Harpenden this afternoon, to begin our next two years as full-time YWAM missionaries to England! We will initially be moving into the flat belonging to Richard and Immacul√©e Hedden, who were the leaders of our outreach team to Ethiopia and Rwanda, and are away in Switzerland until September. Praise God that we have a flat to ourselves (for the first time since getting married!) – this is a real blessing and answer to prayer. Please pray for us as we move into our new flat there, and settle in to the YWAM community – being there as full-time staff will be quite different from being DTS trainees!

The more financially astute among you might be wondering whether this means that we have already achieved our goal of raising ¬£1500/month in committed support. To which the answer is ‘not yet’. We are currently just over half-way there. But we have been told by the YWAM Personnel Office that ‘In light of the progress that you have already made, we are happy to let you come… and we trust that the Lord will continue to give you breakthroughs and new regular supporters’. So pray that God would continue to provide “all things” (Rom. 8:32) that we need.

All these are details though – whatever you pray, please pray that God’s kingdom would come (Matt.6:10) – whether through us or in spite of us! YWAM has a lot of things planned over the summer – Olympic outreach, the ‘School of the Circuit Riders’, and much else besides – but “unless the LORD builds the house, the builders build in vain” (Ps. 127). So pray that God would ‘build His house’, and that He would “revive us according to His word” (Ps. 119:107).

Grace and peace, Peter & Taryn
